Abstract
En este capítulo se realiza un análisis económico de los sistemas de producción priorizados:
mango, cítricos, cultivos forrajeros y sistemas silvopastoriles, los cuales tuvieron
lugar en el departamento del Cesar, en Colombia, para lo cual se consideran
dos situaciones: la tecnología local en comparación con la opción tecnológica que
incluye el uso del riego.
A manera de justificación se menciona que, al revisar la literatura, no se encontró
un estudio que documente los retornos económicos de los sistemas de producción
para esta región, por lo que se procedió a construir una línea de base que permitiera
comparar los retornos económicos (Martínez-Reina et al., 2021) una vez las opciones
tecnológicas son incorporadas en estos sistemas.
La información sobre el uso del sistema de riego se obtuvo a partir del componente
biofísico del proyecto, cuyos datos se fueron registrando en la medida que avanzaban
las actividades. En algunos casos, como los cítricos y el mango, no fue posible obtener
información de los ciclos completos, por lo que fue necesario considerar promedios y
tasas de crecimiento, tanto en precios como en cantidades, para tener datos cercanos
a la realidad. Se deja claro que los datos de los experimentos se extrapolaron a una
hectárea por año, tanto para los cálculos de los ingresos como para los costos.
