Abstract
La Industria 4.0 o Cuarta Revolución Industrial también conocida por las siglas 4RI representa un cambio fundamental en la manera como se desarrollan las actividades laborales, cotidianas y de relacionamiento. Los avances tecnológicos en diferentes campos del conocimiento y la inmersión de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones (TIC), en todas las actividades humanas, marcan el concepto de una nueva era, en la que la industria combina lo físico, lo digital y lo biológico, hacia la creación de valor (World Economic Forum, 2019).
El término aparece por primera vez en la feria tecnológica de Hannover 2011 y en la misma feria en el año 2013 con informe detallado del concepto y sus implicaciones. Su concepto más ampliamente difundido es el de un conjunto de procesos que conlleva a la completa automatización e interconexión de la producción a través de sistemas ciber-físicos (Cyber-physical Systems). Así, la industria 4.0 se asocia principalmente a los diferentes procesos industriales y de manufactura. Sin embargo, su escalabilidad a la cotidianidad misma es cada vez más evidente. El Foro Económico Mundial, considera ocho factores clave que dinamizan la industria 4.0 en el mundo (Figura 1).
