dc.description.abstractNueve cepas del virus de Newcastle obtenidas de Puerto Rico, Georgia, Alabama, Mlsslsslppi y Texas fueron analizadas para determinar patogenicidad In vivo, propiedades biológicas (hemoaglutinaclón de eritrocitos de diferentes especies) y secuencia miento (aminoácidos y ADN). Cuatro cepas aglutinaron eritrocitos de bovino, mientras que ninguna aglutinó eritrocitos de equino. Para todas las cepas se obtuvieron índices de patogenicidad intracerebral entre O y 0.3 y un índice de patogenicidad intravenoso de cero. Mediante la reacción en cadena de la polimerasa - transcriptasa reversa, todas las cepas presentaron una secuencia en el sido de clivaje del gen de la proteína de fusión comparable con la reportada en la literatura para cepas lentogénicas de Newcastle. Sin embargo, la secuencia de las nucleótidos no fue 100% similar a las cepas B 1 o La Sota, Indicando la existencia de heterogeneidad genética entre las cepas de campa de esta enfermedad.spa
