Abstract
Los abonos orgánicos son productos de origen animal o vegetal que contienen varios elementos nutritivos entre los cuales sobresalen el nitrógeno (N), el fósforo (P), el Potasio (K) y los denominados micronutrientes. Con el deterioro progresivo que han venido sufriendo los suelos se plantea la alternativa de usar productos inocuos como los abonos orgánicos que además de aportar nutrientes al suelo, también tienen otros efectos benéficos como son los de activación de los procesos microbianos, el mejoramiento de muchas propiedades físicas como la estructura del suelo, la infiltración y la retención de humedad.
Una alternativa de manejo que permite recuperar las condiciones de fertilidad es la del uso del abono orgánico tipo bokashi el cual se obtiene por fermentación rápida, gracias a la acción de los microorganismos eficientes que se aplican. Este proceso permite aprovechar en forma eficiente los residuos orgánicos (raquiz de plátano, desechos de frutas, estiércoles, etc.), lo cual lo hace un insumo de fácil producción y de bajo costo.
