Abstract
Se evaluaron cuatro métodos para inducir la diferenciación y desarrollo de yemas vegetativas: interrupción de la dominancia apical mediante la eliminación de la planta madre a los seis meses de la siembra (Hamilton), aporque de yemas (Barker), aplicación de abono orgánico (gallinaza), y fertilización nitrogenada (úrea). La mayor cantidad de semilla vegetativa (cormos) se obtuvo a través del método de Hamilton, basado en la eliminación temprana de la dominancia apical, pero una serie de inconvenientes sobre manejo lo vuelve un poco difícil para el agricultor. Los métodos de fertilización nitrogenada también produjeron una buena cantidad de semilla, siendo los más prácticos y económicos para los sistemas de producción en la zona cafetera central.
